Getting your heat distribution exactly right is a pain. But here’s the real kicker: if you move a production line from North America over to Europe or Asia, the heating elements aren’t usually the problem. It’s the power grid. Nobody wants to flip the switch on a new setup only to watch a lamp blow out instantly. That’s why we build our infrared lamps to handle 110V, 480V, and 575V. We make sure the gear actually fits the plug in the wall.
Why the numbers actually matter
Voltage isn’t just some boring spec on a sheet. It changes everything about how the lamp is built—specifically the thickness and length of the filament. Think of it this way: a 110V lamp needs a completely different resistive load than a 575V lamp to put out the same amount of heat. If you try to force a lamp to run on the wrong voltage, you’re looking at one of two things: zero heat, or a popped filament. To stop that from happening, we tweak the coil density based on your local grid. That way, the heat stays consistent across the whole annealing zone.
Making it work globally
We don’t just slap a transformer on it and call it a day. We actually change the internal architecture of the quartz tubes. Whether you’re running a small setup on 110V or a massive industrial load on 480V/575V, the heat feels the same. There is a bit of a trade-off, though. High-voltage systems are great because they pull less current, meaning you can use thinner cables. It makes the wiring in a big oven a lot cleaner. But, those high-voltage lamps put way more stress on the insulators. You’ve got to make sure your housing is rated for it, or you’ll start seeing arcs. And nobody wants that.
